There are a lot of ancient sights in Kyrgyzstan. One of such famous sights is Gumbez Manasa. It is located not far from Talas, 22 km to the north-east. Gumbez Manasa is a mausoleum, whose height is approximately 11 m, and the area is 50 square meters. This monument is not so big, but its appearance does not cease to be majestic and fabulously beautiful. Above the mausoleum there is a pointed dome. The Gumbes Manas itself consists of burnt bricks, which are decorated with patterns of Kyrgyz applied art and inscriptions in Arabic. In one of the inscriptions it is said that in this very mausoleum the daughter of a rich emir (ruler) of the Middle Ages rests. But the legend says that this Gumbez was made by the order of the wife of the Kyrgyz hero Manas - Kanykei and this inscription was made with the purpose of distracting the enemies. At the moment, Gumbez Manasa is a great asset of Kyrgyz culture, history and architecture.
