- Taldyk Pass
A pass in the Alai Range at an altitude of 3,615 meters, connecting the valley of the Gulcha River in the north and the Alai Valley in the south. The highway connecting Osh with the village of Sary-Tash in the Alai Valley and to the border with Tajikistan and China passes through the pass (Osh-Kyzyl-Art-Khorog highway, Osh-Irkeshtam-Kashgar highway). It is quite rare for high mountain passes.
The road to the pass opens with an impressive serpentine. 40 years of Kyrgyzstan (3541m) and already leads to the settlement of Sary-Tash. At the pass, you can find a monument to Yuri Mikhailovich Grushko, who was engaged in construction work on the pass in the 1930s and '40s.
