- Jeti-Oguz gorge
The picturesque gorge Dzhety-Oguz is located 28 km south-west of the city of Karakol. Its name in Kyrgyz means "seven bulls." The name is symbolic, because there is a wall of seven red-brown rocks 35 km long, resembling a series of violent bulls. The unusual contrast of the gorge lends itself to rocks that are thickly overgrown with grass and pines, resembles soft carpet from afar. Especially romantic is the rock "Broken Heart". Jet-Oguz is also famous for its hot springs. Out of the ground, at an altitude of 2200 m, a health resort was built. Water from sources is useful for rheumatism, diseases of the stomach and nervous system. Climbing higher, you can get to the panorama of Kok-Jayik, offering stunning views of the gorge or the Valley of Flowers, covered with poppies. In the upper part of Jety-Oguz there are also mountain lakes and noisy waterfalls.
