- Altyn-Arashan gorge
10 km east of the city of Karakol, in the valley of the river Arashan, there is a beautiful Altyn-Arashan gorge. Ak-Suu (the old name Teploklyuchenka), immediately after which the gorge widens, opens completely to the eyes of the traveler. One slope of the Altyn-Arashan gorge is behind a dense and forested area, with flowers, berries and low bushes. You can meet mountain goats, red deer, bears, wild boars and marmots. These are the hottest springs with radon waters. A few hours on a hike can lead to the sea glacial lake Kashka-Suu or the majestic waterfalls of Sharkiratma, Tash-Tektir, Kuldurek. At an altitude of more than 3500 m there is another amazing lake Ala-Kul. Altyn-Arashan - Aksu wall (5022 m) with a snow-white glacial cap and a picnic of Soviet Russia (4900 m).
