Burana Tower is located next to a large archaeological and architectural complex near the town of Tokmok, 80 kilometers to the rise from Bishkek. This is the only tower built in the XI century in the medieval town of Balasagun, in the center of the prosperous state of Karakhanids. Nearby there was a mosque, and the tower worked for the call of believers to make plea. The height of the tower is about 25 meters, although in the Middle Ages its height reached about 40 meters: it was understood that most of the tower was destroyed by an earthquake in the 15th century. On the stairs it is possible to climb to the top of the Burana tower, from the very top reveals a beautiful spectacle on the valley located around. From the eastern edge of the tower lie the remains of mausoleums. On the perimeter of the complex-museum are the ancient stone statues of stone.
