The Shamsky Strait is located 120 km from the city of Bishkek and is one of the most picturesque corners of Kyrgyzstan. We have unusually steep and narrow slopes with protruding rocky outcrops. The gorge crosses the river of the same name with many rocky rapids. Zones of subalpine meadows are used as jailoo as powerful and tall pines. Turkestan lynx, hares, ermines, etc. In the upper part of the gorge, at an altitude of more than 3500 m, lies the Shaminsky pass, connecting the Chui and Kochkor valleys. The pure gold mask, which, according to local residents, belonged to an ancient queen named Shamsi.
