- Batken region
In the north-eastern part of the Batken region, 150 km from the city of Batken, is the city of Kyzyl-Kiya. The population of the city is more than 43 thousand people. In Soviet times, Kyzyl-Kiya was a large industrial center of the region, so the infrastructure and communications were well preserved, and the city itself was built with pronounced urban features. Republican roads Osh-Sulukta and Osh-Fergana pass through the city. There is a railway linking the city with Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, and a small airport.
